Most
of the places where toner/paper dust causes the most damage in right in
the path where the paper passes through your machine. That's why some
problems like streaks and blotches seem to take care of themselves after
running several prints.. the paper picks up the excess dust.
Because
there are static charges present in the printing process, dust also
accumulates outside the paper path. At some point, this dust will fall
back into the paper path. Also, replacing toner, pulling out paper jams
can release toner that hasn't been fused to the paper.. and a little toner
goes a long way.
