WINTER CARE FOR LASER PRINTERS

Seasons change, and with it the quality of you prints. But with proper care, your laser printer should make great quality prints all year round.

Where we live, it's winter now... but sunny and warm most days. We get high winds, which means more static. Others get cold and humidity. Either way, it's a good time to review how to avoid seasonal problem.

Store Your Paper Properly
On a micro level, paper is like a sponge. It gets more or less moisture, depending on humidity. However, you can greatly reduce this effect by keeping your paper in the wrapper it comes in, in the case in an air conditioned environment... at least avoid stacking it open next to the water heater!

Clean Your Machine
Regular preventative maintenance extends the life of rollers and fusing assemblies. With any change in the climate, you get more dust flying... the paper and toner dust in a machine combine to grind down parts, or make messy prints.
